"While the world faced the pandemic of 2020, mothers in crisis had already been enduring health and economic hardships for years. Inadequate childcare, housing, income, and one's sense of self creates a crisis within one’s own universe—a struggle that often goes unrecognized until it is personally experienced." -Amber
Amber Davis began her massage therapy practice in 2010 in the Washington, DC area, gaining diverse experience in spas, wellness centers, homes, and office settings, including work as a home healthcare assistant for elderly clients. As a maternity home director, she applied massage therapy principles to support women in crisis during pregnancy and parenting. Her work with vulnerable communities sparked a passion for empowering women—particularly mothers—both physically and economically, with the understanding that when women are well, communities thrive.
Certified as a "Nurture the Mother" practitioner, Amber specializes in massage for pregnancy, postpartum, labor support, and fertility. As a former essential oil student and distributor, she holds certifications in Vitaflex and Raindrop Technique and has a deep passion for safely integrating essential oils with massage to enhance healing.
Following the pandemic, Amber shifted focus from direct service to empowering women in marginalized areas through massage training and consultation. Currently, she is engaged in massage research, training, and community building in East Africa, with a strong commitment to promoting the benefits of massage for personal wellness, mental, reproductive, and emotional health, aiming for global impact.
Amber Davis, affectionately known as "Mwalimu Amba" by her East African trainees, is the Visionary Founder of Massage On Mission and the former owner of Eve's Awakening Massage & Bodywork LLC (Maryland, USA). Since 2021, Amber has been working to help standardize the massage industry in Tanzania for healthcare, wellness, beauty and spa professionals.
